Effective July 5th, 2011, The Toronto Real Estate Board will be implementing a new district structure which will replace the antiquated and confusing district structure which no home buyer or seller understood. The new structure will improve the search capabilities within the MLS, and move from a district mapping system based on a “zone” identified by code numbers to one identified by commonly known names and true geographic areas that are more easily understood by Consumers and real estate agents.
What does this mean for Vaughan? In the current system, Vaughan was classified as N08. Now Vaughan will be broken down further into community neighbourhoods that most people are familiar with. As an example, it will be broken down by neighbourhoods such as Sonoma Heights, Vellore Village, East West Woodbidge, etc. As a matter of fact, the Vaughan district will actually get bigger. In the old system, Vaughan had an eastern boundary of Dufferin Street. Now Vaughan goes right to Yonge Street south of Highway 7 and to Bathurst north of Highway 7.
Now when consumers are looking for homes or condos for sale in Vaughan they can zero in much quicker on an area they are interested in. Below I have attached links to the old districts, an interactive map of the GTA and a map of Vaughan broken down by community neighbourhood.
